History
he Home Place at Piedmont Christian Home began its tradition of care in 1965. The Home was established by Ben and Irene Hunt and the first residents were admitted on June 21, 1965. Mr. Hunt had been in the Christian church ministry all of his adult life. A series of health problems forced him to find another way of ministering to the needs of people. The Home Place at Piedmont Christian Home is the result of his search for a way to continue to serve.
During the first years, Mr. and Mrs. Hunt lived on the property, ate their meals in the facility dining room, and were directly involved with the care of the residents. A pattern of concern was begun during those years which continues to the present. In 1995, members of the Hunt family assumed the responsibility of continuing to offer concerned care in a secure, homelike atmosphere.
